The #1 Reason Why Most Marketing Fails
Welcome to this week’s Marketing Minute Tip, “The Number 1 Reason Most Marketing Fails”. It doesn’t matter whether you’re marketing on the Internet, in newspapers, on TV, by direct mail, telephone, billboard, or singing telegram.
EVERYTHING you give your prospects and clients should provide a compelling REASON WHY they should contact you.
If I had to single out the NUMBER 1 reason most marketing fails, this would be it; failing to give the prospect a reason to contact you.
I’ll even go so far as to say 9 out of every 10 pieces of advertising we see on a daily basis (with the exception of our clients’ advertising of course) make this mistake. The most classic example is when advertisers put their website address on a business card, in a Yellow Pages Ad or some other location and their entire call to action is, “Visit our website.” It doesn’t say why. It doesn’t tell the reader what’s in it for them. It doesn’t even peak the prospect’s curiosity!
I mean, who sits around looking at advertisements and business cards, comes across a website and thinks to himself, “Gee, it says ‘Visit our website’ so I better go do it.” People are way too busy for that. If you want them to take action, you’ve got to give them a BIG REASON WHY.
How do you do that? By offering one or more give-a way’s like these:
- A free special report that answers all their questions
- A free CD
- Access to a free Tele-seminar
- 3 months free membership in one of your Coaching Programs
- Discounted admission to one of your live events
- A free e-book
- A valuable template or checklist
The ideas are endless and the rewards are incredible! If you want people to respond to your calls to action, you’ve got to go the extra mile to engage them. You’ve got to give them a REASON WHY!

I did like the article really much, was really informative and the best part was that only the required part was elaborated, to the point concise information always helps and keeps readers running around digging for the information’s will never require a reread. I really wish spammers read these articles and check how easy it is to be human and respect knowledge.
