Welcome to this week’s Marketing Minute Tip. No doubt you ARE tired of chasing the hard money in your business. Aren’t we all? But where is this “Now” Money?

How do you find it? And once you’ve found it, how do you mine it?

These are 2 excellent questions I’m going to answer right now.

Where is the “Now” Money? Believe it or not, the now money is sitting exactly where the old money has been. In your existing client base!

Now if you aren’t already tapping into the now money in your business, it probably means you aren’t in regular contact (i.e. 2-4 times per month) with your client base.

In fact, depending on when they last purchased from you, many of them may barely remember who you are. So how do you make a connection and renew the relationship without looking like you’re begging for another sale?

You do it with the “I’m Sorry” letter. Put all the blame for losing touch squarely on your shoulders and write a letter that goes something like this…

Dear [FIRST NAME],

I really blew it this time and I’m so sorry. You were a terrific client and then I go and completely drop the ball by losing touch.
Instead of keeping in regular contact and letting you know how much I appreciate our relationship, I got sidetracked by the daily grind and let you down.
That’s why I’d like to make it up to you now by letting you know about a special offer I’ve created just for you…

This type of letter is perfect for getting back in touch with clients because:

It explains why they haven’t heard from you.

It shows remorse and responsibility for “forgetting” about them, and

It rewards the reader for taking the time to trust you have something valuable to say.

But don’t just stop with a letter. Remember these are clients you’ve probably neglected for quite some time and they’re not going to pick up the phone or walk in your store just because you finally got around to contacting them again.

So hit them on multiple fronts, multiple times. What do I mean? Re-craft the message and use it on Voice Broadcast (that’s where you record a message that is automatically delivered to everyone’s voicemail in your database), send an E-mail, mail a Postcard, send a Newsletter, etc.

Touch them multiple times in rapid succession to let them know you’re serious about reconnecting and, trust me, they’ll start to listen.
