Welcome to this week’s Marketing Minute. It’s probably no surprise to you that the successful people are the ones that stop dreaming and start doing. Many of the most successful people in business today are not the most talented, intelligent, creative, well-connected or even disciplined. BUT, they all seem to share certain qualities. They have all learned the art of merging the Dreamer with the Doer.

Instead of living in their heads and only dreaming of the things they wanted, they took ACTION, they became DOER’s. Even if it was as simple as making a “to-do” list or making just 10 phone calls a day or signing up for a marketing course to help keep on track and moving forward, the point is these people took action EVERY DAY in some way.

Taking ACTION is what all success comes down to. You need the persistence and determination to keep on keeping on. Whether your definition of success is owning a wildly profitable business, spending more time with your family, giving back to the community, living it up on a Caribbean island or anything else you can imagine, it will come because of your actions. You must maintain the dedication, desire and practice of taking action.

It’s like the world-famous David Sandler of Sandler Sales used to say, “You can’t ride a bike if it’s not moving.” The key is to keep moving and keep doing. No matter how many times you zig or zag between your present location and your final destination, you’ll never get there if you don’t do something, if you don’t start moving, if you don’t take ACTION!
